1.0 Vision and Mission

1.1 The name & Objectives

‘Samruddhi’ means prosperity. The primary objectives of the trust are to ensure progress and prosperity of all stake holders and the society at large. The Lok Samruddhi Trust was formed by 3 Philanthropist individuals with the sole aim of community service with no profit motive.

1.2 Samruddhi’s objectives are aligned to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG)

Samruddhi has adopted a few of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). Our Purpose and objectives of existence draws inspiration from the 8 SDGs, among the 17 existing ones, which are the most meaningful considering the Founders and Group’s vision, mission and values.

These 8 SDGs are:

2.0 Focus Areas of Philanthropic Activities

The Trustees at Samruddhi are committed to ensure judicious and optimum use of the resources at their disposal, for improving the quality of life of the society at large by focusing on the causes, including but not limited to the following areas:

2.1 HEALTH AND WELL BEING

2.1.1 Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care and sanitation.
2.1.2 Measures for the benefit of Security Personnel including the police, & armed forces veterans their widows and their dependents;
2.1.3 Emergencies and Natural Calamities
2.1.4 Rural Development Projects.
2.1.5 Focus on other vulnerable sections of the society such as Vanvasi Population (Inhabitants of the Forest)

2.2 EDUCATION, INCLUSION, GENDER EQUALITY

2.2.1 Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly, and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects;
2.1.2 Promoting gender equality, empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans; setting up old age homes, day care centres and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups;
2.1.3 Training to promote rural sports, nationally recognized sports, Paralympic sports and Olympic sports;

2.3 ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE ACTIONS

Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agroforestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water.

2.4 CONSERVATION AND JUDICIOUS USE OF RESOURCES

Creating awareness and increase commitment to judicious consumption of scarce natural resources in view of conserving them for future generation and also reduce CO2 Emission, by reducing use of food, water, plastic, petroleum resources, power etc.

2.5 AWARENESS ABOUT OUR FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL

Creating awareness about individual’s duties and responsibilities towards fellow Citizens, Society and nation at large and of the future generation including civic behavior, and environmental responsibilities and duties

2.6 SELF DEPENDENCE

Increase peoples’ dependence on one self and reduce dependence on Governments, and other institutions thereby reducing the burden on the public and exchequers and make the society always motivated to achieve higher results

2.7 SUPPORT OTHERS

Creating a sense of belongingness to the nation and a desire to share the resources and responsibilities with fellow citizens in all spheres of life
